Manufacturing Process

Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate is manufactured by reacting sodium carbonate with phosphoric acid to produce disodium phosphate. It is subsequently heated at high temperatures to form Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate.

Food Industry

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate has a variety of applications in the food industry, such as an emulsifier, thickening, dispersing, and buffering agent. It is also commonly used as a food additive in products such as marshmallows, puddings, and chicken nuggets.

Cosmetic Industry 

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate is used as a chelating and oral care agent in products, such as toothpaste and mouthwash, that prevents the deposition of calcium and magnesium onto teeth.

Other Applications

Tetrasodium pyrophosphate is used in hosiery manufacturing to remove calcium alginate linking stitches and silk degumming. It is also used as a dispersing agent in the paints and paper industry.
